A two-week trip that will allow us to get to know the charms of two countries of the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Portugal. We will visit the most characteristic and emblematic cities and tourist attractions of each of these countries. The cities we will visit during the trip are Barcelona, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Ávila, Toledo, Fátima, Lisbon, Porto. During the tour, we will also visit Andorra and city Lourdes in France. Our guide will go with us throughout the trip.

Day 1: Barcelona
The staff of NESKA TRAVEL will greet you in the arrivals hall of the airport in Barcelona. Transfer to hotel in Costa Brava, accommodation and dinner.
Day 2: Barcelona
After breakfast, we will go by air-conditioned coach to visit Barcelona. Apart from the pilot, you will be accompanied by an official guide during the tour. We will start our visit to Barcelona at Rambla, the most famous walking street in the city, which starts at Plaza Catalunya and ends at the Columbus Monument. We will go to the gothic quarter with the famed cathedral of Saint Eulalia, Royal Square, and the Generalitat building – the seat of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia. We will cross the Paseo de Gracia to admire Gaudi‘s houses: Casa Batllo and Casa Mila “La Pedrera” also known as the quarry. Later we will see the Sagrada Familia cathedral, one of the most visited places in Barcelona. Then we will go to Parque Güell and from there to the Montjuic hill, stopping at the Camp Nou stadium on the way. On the Montjuic, we will admire the beautiful panorama of Barcelona and additionally visit the Olympic Stadium and sports facilities of the Olympics Games.

Day 3: Montserrat – Andorra
After breakfast, we will depart for Lourdes, stopping in Montserrat and Andorra la Bella, the capital of Andorra. A visit with an official guide to Montserrat, where the Benedictine monastery is located at an altitude of 720 m above sea level. It is the 17th-century basilica with the Black Madonna “La Moreneta”, the protector of Catalonia, it is the second place of pilgrimage in Spain after Santiago de Compostela. Legend has it that it was carved by St. Luke, and to Barcelona was brought by St. Peter. Hidden from the Moors, it was to be miraculously found in one of the caves of the Montserrat massif in the 9th century.
Andorra la Vella the city is located on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees at an altitude of 1,409 m above sea level, thanks to which it has become a popular ski resort. We will have a few hours of time to rest, shop, and take a leisurely stroll around this picturesque town.
Then we continue our journey to Lourdes. In Lourdes, accommodation, dinner, After dinner, we offer an evening torchlight procession at 21:00. they will. Overnight at a hotel in Lourdes.
Day 4: Lourdes
After breakfast, we will start our tour of Lourdes (those willing can participate in the international mass at 9:30). The largest in France and one of the world’s largest centers of Marian devotion and pilgrimage destination visited annually by 6 million people from all over the world. According to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, on February 11, 1858, the Mother of God appeared to the 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous at the cave of Massabielle, introducing herself to her in the local dialect: “Que soy era Immaculada councepciou” – “I am the Immaculate Conception”. In 1874 a statue was placed here. Our Lady of Lourdes, then a neo-Gothic basilica. Bernadette Soubirous herself entered the Nevers Monastery in 1866 and was canonized in 1933.
You will see the Grotto of the Apparitions, the Upper Basilica, the Crypt, and the Basilica of the Holy Rosary. Then we will set off for Madrid. Accommodation, dinner, and overnight at a hotel.
Day 5: Madrid
After breakfast, we will start exploring Madrid, the capital of Spain. Madrid is the largest city in Spain and the third-largest city in Europe after Paris and London. The capital of Spain is located at 600 m above sea level and is the highest capital in Europe. It is also one of the oldest cities on our continent. The first historical evidence of a stable settlement dates back to the 9th century, the Muslim era: Madrid will see Real Madrid stadium, Bullfighting Arena, Paseo de Prado, Atocha train station with a wonderful tropical garden inside, Retiro Park, Principe Pio with the Temple of Debod, Plaza España, Gran Via Streets, Royal Palace, Plaza de Oriente, Royal Theater, Cathedral of Santa Maria de Almudena, remains of the defensive walls from the 9th century, Church of St. Sacramento Church, Calle Mayor, Plaza de la Villa and St. Michael, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and Neptuno Square.
Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
Day 6: Avila
After breakfast, we will depart for Santiago de Compostela, stopping in Avila on the way. The city has three royal titles, all three are represented on the city’s flag with the inscription on it: “Ávila del Rey, de Los Leales, y de Los Caballeros”. Here we will be able to admire the beautiful panorama of the city from Cuatro Postes. We will see the Basilica of San Vicente, the cathedral and the city walls. Check-in, dinner, and overnight at a hotel in Santiago de Compostela.
Day 7: Santiago de Compostela
After breakfast, we will visit Santiago de Compostela. The resting place of St. James the Greater, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. It has been a well-known center of worship and pilgrimage since the Middle Ages. People of all states set off for Santiago de Compostela, which at that time was one of the three main destinations of medieval pilgrimage (next to Rome and the Holy Land). The pilgrimage to the apostle’s tomb was also treated as an element of social rehabilitation, whether it was self-imposed or ordered by a court judgment. In front of the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, you can buy a souvenir, a hallmark of the destination, i.e. a pilgrim shell, a symbol of St. James. Originally, a scallop shell was picked up from the nearby coast, as evidence of having made the pilgrimage. Currently, the scallop shell is the hallmark of pilgrims on the way to Santiago. We will visit the Basilica of Saint James the Apostle, the third most important place after Jerusalem and Rome, a place of pilgrimage in the Christian world. Departure for Porto.

Day 8: Porto
After breakfast, we will visit Porto, the second-largest city in Portugal. Like many other European cities, Porto is an ancient city that has a great historical heritage. The oldest information about the city comes from the 5th century. The world-famous Porto wine derives its name from this city. We go on visiting the city and the cellars of Porto in Vila Nova de Gaia. We will see the cathedral, the church of St. Francis, districts of Ribera. Then we will go to Coimbra, where we will visit the University and, if time permits, the Sister Lucia Memorial Chamber. Dinner at the hotel in Fatima, accommodation, and overnight.
Day 9: Fatima
After breakfast, we will visit Fatima. In 1917, three shepherds from Fatima – Francisco and Jacinta Marto and Lucia dos Santos – announced that the Mother of God had appeared to them and shared three secrets of Fatima. The Catholic Church recognized these revelations as not contrary to doctrine. The church considered it a miracle in 1930. We will go to visit the Sanctuary and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary with the tombs of Francisco and Jacinta. Free time at the Sanctuary for private prayer. Then we will drive to Sintra. Sintra is one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, and due to the series of monuments located here, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This is a special city not only because of its architectural attractions but also because of its picturesque location and its microclimate. In Sintra, we will visit the National Palace and the Caboda Roca viewpoint. Transfer to Lisbon. In Lisbon, we offer an evening walk and the Cristo Rei viewpoint – also the Sanctuary of Christ the King.

Day 10: Lisbon
After breakfast, we will visit Lisbon, the capital and largest city in Portugal, which is built on seven hills at the mouth of the Tagus River. The perfect climate and sunshine for most of the year make Lisbon a white city. The city is lively until late at night and offers excellent restaurants (where you can taste the best specialties of Portuguese cuisine), wine bars (where you can taste delicious national wines and drink the famous port wine), as well as a variety of bars and trendy nightlife. We will visit the Se Cathedral, St. George, Portas de Sol viewpoint, we will go through Alfame, then we will go to Rossio, S.Justa Elevator. In the Belem district, we will see the Tower, Monument to the Discoverers, the Heronimite Monastery, and, if time permits, the Expo and Oceanarium areas. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Lisbon.
Day 11: Evora
After breakfast, we will depart for Toledo, stopping in Evora on the way. The old town of Evora is on the UNESCO National Heritage List. The Roman walls surrounding the center date back to the 2nd century, and between the narrow streets with white limestone houses, there are remains of Roman, Arab, Jewish, and other peoples who inhabited these areas. We will visit the cathedral, the Roman temple, and the church of St. Francis. Dinner at a hotel near Madrid, accommodation, and overnight.
Day 12: Toledo
After breakfast, we will drive to Toledo. Called the Imperial City, whose historical roots go back to the Bronze Age. A city with a rich history often named the capital of the kingdom and the archbishopric. Throughout the centuries, Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures have coexisted here, each leaving their mark on the architecture and monuments of Toledo. Panoramic visit with a beautiful viewpoint. A stroll through the old town, Zocodover Square, we will see Greco’s house, the 13th century St. Martin, the 15th-century Monastery of St. John of the Kings. We will also enter the Cathedral. We will go from Toledo to Costa Brava near to Barcelona. Dinner at a hotel on the Costa Brava, accommodation and overnight.
Day 13: Barcelona free day
Breakfast. Free time that you can spend on relaxing on the beach, shopping at La Roca Village Outlet or sightseeing. Dinner, overnight.
Day 14: Return
Breakfast and then transfer to the airport.
